The Hall of Fame 2 distinguishes itself from its predecessor through three major additions that enhance creative control. The most significant upgrade is the MASH footswitch, a pressure-sensitive switch that functions like an built-in expression pedal. By varying the pressure applied to the footswitch, users can dynamically control parameters such as reverb decay, level, or modulation in real-time without needing an external expression pedal or bending down to adjust knobs.

The pedal also introduces a dedicated Shimmer reverb algorithm, a highly requested feature that pitch-shifts the reverb tail up one octave to create ethereal, ambient soundscapes. This algorithm utilizes technology from TC Electronic's Sub 'N' Up Octaver to ensure polyphonic accuracy. Additionally, the unit now boasts three TonePrint slots, allowing musicians to store and instantly access custom presets or artist signatures via the free TonePrint app, compared to the single slot on the original model.
