The Jerry Jones Neptune Shorty is a compact octave 12-string electric guitar built by Nashville luthier Jerry Jones (production ended 2011, so it's now used-market only). It pairs a diminutive hollow masonite Longhorn body with a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard (19 frets, ~15¾" scale), and two of Jones' signature balanced Lipstick tube pickups wired for hum cancellation with a unique 4-way rotary switch (neck, bridge, series, parallel). At roughly 4 lbs 12 oz, it delivers sparkling, mandolin-like chime tones that cut through a mix — Ry Cooder has been reported to use one.
