The Epiphone Extura Prophecy is a high-performance solid-body electric guitar that reimagines the classic Gibson Explorer shape with modern ergonomic improvements and premium electronics. Part of Epiphone’s Prophecy collection, it blends the aggressive aesthetics of the Explorer with the narrower waist and deeper cutaway of the rare Gibson Futura prototype, offering superior upper-fret access and playability.

Design and Body
The Extura Prophecy features an exclusive body shape that retains the iconic angular silhouette of the Explorer but adds a sculpted heel and deeper cutaway for unrestricted access to the highest frets. The body is crafted from mahogany and topped with a stunning AAA flame maple veneer, finished in an aged gloss that highlights the wood grain. It's in Black Aged Gloss.

Neck and Playability
Designed for speed and comfort, the guitar boasts a mahogany neck with an asymmetrical SlimTaper profile and a modern contoured heel. The ebony fretboard has a 12" radius and hosts 24 jumbo frets, facilitating fast runs and complex chord voicings. Inlays are distinctive block and triangle shapes with abalone accents that complement the body color. The nut is made of black Graph Tech NuBone, enhancing sustain and tuning stability.

Electronics and Sound
At the heart of the Extura Prophecy are custom Fishman Fluence Proprietary Humbuckers. These active pickups offer three distinct voicings accessible via push/pull controls on the volume and tone knobs:

Hot Modern Active: High-output tone ideal for metal and hard rock.
Classic PAF-Style: Warm, vintage humbucker sound.
Single-Coil: Shimmering, clear tones without hum.
This versatility makes the guitar suitable for a wide range of genres, particularly metal and progressive rock, where high-gain precision and tonal variety are essential.

Hardware and Specs
The guitar is equipped with rock-solid hardware, including Grover locking Rotomatic tuners for impeccable tuning stability, a LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge, and a stopbar tailpiece. It also comes with Gibson PosiLok strap buttons and includes a premium gig bag.
