The MXR EVH Phase 90 is a signature phaser pedal created through a collaboration between Eddie Van Halen and Dunlop Manufacturing. It serves as an updated version of the legendary MXR Phase 90, specifically designed to replicate the iconic swirling tones found on early Van Halen albums like Van Halen (1978).

Key Features and Design
The pedal distinguishes itself with a Script switch, a feature not found on the standard orange Phase 90. This switch allows players to instantly toggle between two distinct voicings:

Script Mode: Engages a vintage, mellow, and less intense phase effect reminiscent of the original "script logo" Phase 90 units used by Van Halen in the late 1970s.
Block Mode: Delivers a more modern, aggressive, and pronounced phasing sound associated with later "block logo" versions.
Visually, the pedal features custom red, white, and black stripes modeled after Eddie Van Halen's famous "Frankenstein" guitar. It also includes a blue LED indicator, differing from the standard red LED on classic models. The unit operates with simple single-knob control to adjust the speed of the phase effect from subtle undulations to fast, watery warbles.

The EVH Phase 90 is built for versatility and reliability, suitable for guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals. It addresses specific technical limitations found in some standard production models, offering full 1M ohm input headroom to prevent tone degradation when the effect is off.
