The Yamaha TAG1E is an entry-level, second-generation TransAcoustic dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar designed to provide an immersive playing experience without external amplification. It features built-in reverb and chorus effects that resonate directly through the guitar body using an internal actuator, allowing players to enjoy ambient sound while practicing or performing unplugged.
The TAG1E utilizes TransAcoustic SYSTEM70 technology, which vibrates the guitar body itself to produce effects, preserving the instrument's natural dynamic response. Unlike traditional setups requiring pedals or amps, this system creates a room-filling sound directly from the wood. The guitar is equipped with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, a classic combination known for delivering warm, balanced tone with strong projection. It also features a mahogany neck and a walnut fingerboard for comfortable playability.
The instrument maintains a traditional dreadnought body shape but includes modern refinements such as a slightly deeper body for increased volume compared to previous generations. It comes strung with Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings and includes a gig bag. The electronics are powered by two AA batteries, and the control layout is streamlined for intuitive adjustment of reverb, chorus, and line-out volume. While the TAG1E focuses on core acoustic effects, higher-end models in the same generation may include additional features like Bluetooth connectivity and loopers.
