The Electro-Harmonix Hot Tubes Nano is a reissue of the legendary 1978 CMOS overdrive pedal, renowned for its organic, tube-like warmth and exceptional touch sensitivity.  Unlike many modern overdrives that compress the signal, the Hot Tubes responds dynamically to your playing attack and guitar volume, cleaning up naturally when you ease off, much like a cranked vacuum tube amplifier. 

The pedal utilizes a CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) circuit to generate distortion, resulting in a tone that ranges from a gentle, creamy rasp to a aggressive, high-gain crunch.  It is distinct from Tube Screamer-style pedals, offering a fuller low-end response and a bright, raspy character that can be tamed or shaped via the Tone control. 

• Dynamic Response: The circuit is highly sensitive to picking dynamics; digging in produces aggression, while playing softly yields cleaner tones. 

• Versatility: Capable of functioning as a clean boost, a light breakup pedal, or a heavy distortion source depending on the "Overdrive" knob setting. 

• Stacking: It pairs exceptionally well with other drives, particularly mid-boost pedals like Tube Screamers, to create thick, saturated leads.

The Nano version retains the sonic DNA of the original but fits it into a compact, pedalboard-friendly enclosure. 

• Overdrive: Controls the amount of gain and distortion. 

• Volume: Adjusts the overall output level, capable of significant boost above unity gain. 

• Tone: Shapes the brightness of the signal. 

• Tone Bypass Switch: A unique toggle switch that completely removes the tone circuit from the signal path, resulting in a darker, slightly louder, and uncolored tone. 

• True Bypass: Ensures the guitar's signal remains pure when the effect is disengaged.
