The Ibanez Mode MDM1005 in Pearl White is a modern 5-string electric bass designed for versatility and high performance. Part of Ibanez’s Mode series, it reimagines classic bass design with contemporary upgrades ideal for both studio and stage use. 

Design and Build Quality

Crafted with a lightweight alder body, the MDM1005 delivers a balanced tonal foundation with bright attack and rich sustain.  The roasted maple neck enhances stability and durability, resisting warping due to humidity and temperature changes.  Paired with a rosewood fretboard featuring white dot inlays and luminescent side dots, the bass offers a smooth, fast-playing feel ideal for extended performances.  It has a 34" scale length, 24 medium stainless steel frets, and a slim MDM5 neck profile for effortless playability across all frets.

Electronics and Sound

Equipped with dual Delta S5J single-coil pickups and the advanced Ibanez Sonitech S preamp, the MDM1005 provides expansive tonal control.  The preamp includes a 3-band EQ (bass, mid, treble), an EQ bypass switch (via push/pull tone knob), and a unique Hexa Mid system with a 3-way mid-frequency toggle and a rear-mounted 2-way switch, offering six selectable midrange frequencies.  This makes it easy to dial in precise tones for genres ranging from vintage funk to modern metal. 

The MR5S Mono-Rail bridge ensures excellent string isolation, sustain, and adjustable string spacing (±1.5mm), while the lightweight Ibanez Aero-Light tuners improve balance and tuning stability.
