2025 PRS NF 53 – White Doghair:

Description

The 2025 PRS NF 53 is Paul Reed Smith's modern interpretation of a classic early-1950s single-cutaway electric guitar. Rather than creating a direct copy of a vintage T-style instrument, PRS designed the NF 53 to retain the snap, twang, and dynamic response players expect while incorporating many of the company's signature refinements.

At the heart of the NF 53 are a pair of PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) pickups. Unlike traditional single-coils, these proprietary pickups utilize taller bobbins with additional windings and strategically placed steel pole pieces to produce exceptional clarity, punch, and note separation while remaining hum-free. The result is an instrument that delivers vintage-inspired attack and articulation with more output, wider frequency response, and virtually no 60-cycle hum.

The guitar features a resonant swamp ash body, a comfortable bolt-on maple neck carved to the Pattern 53 profile, and a 25.5-inch scale length for familiar snap and string tension. The steel PRS Plate-Style bridge with brass saddles, bone nut, and PRS Phase III non-locking tuners maximize sustain, resonance, and tuning stability.

The White Doghair finish highlights the natural grain of the swamp ash using black grain filler beneath a white translucent finish, giving each guitar a unique vintage-inspired appearance.

The Narrowfield DD pickups are designed to combine much of the sparkle and articulation associated with single-coils while eliminating hum. They also provide more midrange body and output than a traditional vintage single-coil, making them equally at home with clean tones or higher-gain amplifiers.

White Doghair Finish

The White Doghair finish is one of the NF 53's defining visual features. Instead of covering the wood grain, PRS fills the swamp ash grain with black filler before applying a translucent white finish. This creates dramatic contrast, allowing every guitar's grain pattern to stand out. Because each swamp ash body is unique, no two White Doghair guitars look exactly alike.
