The 2024 Gibson Wildwood Spec Les Paul Standard ’60s in Dark Cherry Sunburst is a USA-made exclusive model that bridges the gap between the standard Gibson USA line and the high-end Custom Shop. 

Key Features & Specifications

This model is distinguished by its hand-selected AAA figured maple tops, a feature typically reserved for the Gibson Custom Shop.  The "Wildwood Spec" designation indicates a collaboration between Gibson and Wildwood Guitars, focusing on vintage-correct aesthetics and premium tone woods at a USA factory price point. 

• Top: Hand-selected AAA Figured Maple (Custom Shop vault selection). 

• Finish: Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer in exclusive Heritage/Dark Cherry Sunburst. 

• Neck: Mahogany with a Slim Taper ’60s profile (.800”–.900” depth). 

• Pickups: Exclusive Wildwood Spec ’59 Tribute Humbuckers.  These are wound to replicate low-output vintage PAFs, offering articulate cleans and dynamic, vocal overdrive.

• Hardware: ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Aluminum Stopbar tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons. 

• Electronics: Hand-wired with Orange Drop capacitors.

The Wildwood Spec series is highly regarded for offering "Custom Shop looks" with USA factory durability and pricing. While standard Gibson USA models often feature AA tops with less consistent figuring, the Wildwood Spec guarantees a highly figured, aesthetically unique top on every instrument.
