The 2006 Fender American Vintage Reissue ’75 Jazz Bass in Natural finish is a highly regarded instrument that faithfully recreates the specifications and aesthetic of mid-1970s Fender Jazz Basses. Produced in the United States as part of the American Vintage series, it is distinct from Japanese reissues due to its specific hardware and pickup configuration.
This model is defined by its "70s vibe," utilizing materials and design choices specific to that era. The body is crafted from solid Ash with a high-gloss natural finish, showcasing the wood grain, paired with a one-piece Maple neck and fretboard. A distinguishing visual feature is the use of black block inlays and black fingerboard binding, contrasting with the light wood.
Mechanically, the bass features a 3-bolt neck plate with Fender’s Micro-Tilt adjustment system and a "bullet" truss rod adjustment at the headstock, both hallmarks of the 1975 original design. It is equipped with single-coil pickups controlled by two volume knobs and a master tone.
As a discontinued model (the American Vintage series ran from 1999 to 2012 before being updated), the 2006 ’75 Reissue is now only available on the used market.
