The Ibanez S470 is a solid-body electric guitar that was produced from 2003 to 2009 and sold worldwide, excluding Japan. It features a mahogany body with a 3-piece maple Wizard II neck, a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with S-wave inlays (replaced by oval inlays in 2008–2009), and a scale length of 648 mm (25½ inches). The guitar is equipped with a ZR double-locking tremolo bridge with a ZPS2 stabilizer, which debuted on this model.
The S470 has an HSH pickup configuration, originally featuring Ibanez Powersound pickups (PSND2, PSNDS, PSND1) from 2003–2004, which were replaced by Ibanez Infinity pickups (INF2, INFS1, INF1) starting in 2005. It includes a master volume, master tone, and a 5-way lever pickup selector. The guitar is available in several finishes, including Flare Orange Flat, which was offered from 2003 onward.
Production of the S470 began in South Korea in 2003 and moved to Indonesia in 2008, with the model being discontinued by 2009.
