TheFulltone OCD-Ge (Obsessive Compulsive Drive – Germanium Edition)is a limited-edition overdrive pedal released in 2019 as part of Fulltone’s Custom Shop series. It represents a modern reimagining of the original OCD circuit, incorporating vintage-stylegermanium diodesandhard-clipping MOSFET transistors—components used in the earliest versions of the pedal before they became rare and expensive. Fulltone acquired a rare cache of these germanium diodes, leading to this special run of the "ultimate OCD."
Key Features and Sound Characteristics
The OCD-Ge delivers amore tube-like feelwith enhanceddynamic range,increased sustain, andsuperior single-note claritycompared to earlier OCD models. Users report a noticeable"sag" effect, reminiscent of a cranked tube amplifier, especially when running the pedal at 9V. This gives it a softer, more organic response that many describe as more expressive and amp-like.
