The Carr Skylark 12-Watt 1x12" Guitar Combo is a tube amplifier designed for players seeking versatile, vintage-inspired tones with modern usability. It produces 12 watts of power, with a built-in switchable attenuator that allows output to be reduced from 1.2 watts down to zero, making it suitable for quiet practice or late-night playing without sacrificing tone quality. The amp features a single channel with controls for Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass, Reverb, and Presence, along with switches for Hi/Lo Gain, 12 Watt / 2 Watt output, and Power/Standby.

The Skylark is powered by two 6V6GT power tubes and two 12AX7 and two 12AT7 preamp tubes, delivering a rich, dynamic sound with a wide range of clean and overdriven tones, from sparkling cleans to bluesy and rock overdrive. It includes a lush, all-tube-driven spring reverb circuit, which provides dimensional ambience suitable for styles ranging from subtle depth to a "Dick Dale approved wash". The amp is equipped with a Celestion 12" A-Type speaker, known for its American voicing and dynamic response.

Constructed with a hand-wired, point-to-point circuit using high-quality components such as Solen Aerospace Satellite power supply capacitors, custom Carr power/output transformers, and carbon comp resistors, the Skylark emphasizes sonic purity and reliability. The cabinet is crafted from solid North Carolina yellow pine with a floating baffle and a dove-tailed construction, contributing to its resonant and responsive tone. The amp weighs approximately 33 to 36 pounds and measures around 21" wide, 15.5" to 17" high, and 9" deep.
