The Allen & Heath Qu-16 is a rackmountable 22-input / 12-output digital mixer designed for live, studio, and installation applications. It features 16 mono mic/line inputs (XLR and 1/4" TRS balanced) and 3 stereo input pairs (1/4" TRS balanced, half-normalled), providing a total of 22 input channels. The mixer includes 16 motorized faders, each 100 mm (3.9 inches) in length, with a dedicated touchscreen interface measuring 5 inches (126 mm) with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It also features a SuperStrip with single-function physical controls for gain, high-pass filter (HPF), 4-band parametric equalizer (PEQ), gate, compressor, graphic equalizer (GEQ), and pan.

The Qu-16 is equipped with 12 mix outputs, including 4 mono XLR mix outputs, 3 stereo XLR mix outputs, 1 stereo XLR main output, and additional 1/4" TRS outputs for alternate mixes and 2-track output. It supports up to 7 monitor mixes (4 mono and 3 stereo) and includes 4 dedicated stereo FX engines with a range of effects including reverb, delay, gated reverb, ADT, chorus, phaser, and flanger. The mixer has a built-in 24x22 USB audio interface, allowing for multitrack recording and playback of up to 18 channels at 48 kHz, 24-bit resolution, with stereo recording patchable from various sources.

The Qu-16 features 16 AnalogiQ digitally controlled preamps with a gain range of -5 to 60 dB in 1 dB steps, offering low noise and high headroom. It has a dynamic range of 112 dB and a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (±0.5 dB). The mixer includes a built-in dSNAKE™ port for connecting remote stageboxes like the AB168, AR2412, or AR84, enabling remote audio routing. It also supports integration with the Qu-Pad iPad app for remote control and has standard MIDI control over USB and network connections.

The Qu-16 is designed to be rackmountable in a 1 RU space, with dimensions of 19 x 19.1 x 7.5 inches (483 x 486 x 190 mm) when rackmounted. The unit weighs 22 pounds (10 kg). It is powered by a 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz power supply with a maximum power draw of 82 W. The mixer also includes a signal generator, RTA (Real-Time Analyzer), and PAFL (Pre-Fader Listen) functionality for system setup and troubleshooting.
