MXR EVH Phase 90
The MXR EVH Phase 90 is a signature guitar pedal developed by Dunlop Manufacturing in collaboration with legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. It is an updated version of the iconic Phase 90 phaser, designed to deliver the same "spacey swirls and hypnotic warbles" that defined Van Halen's sound on their debut album, particularly on tracks like "Eruption" and "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love". The pedal features a unique Script switch that allows players to toggle between two distinct phase tones: a vintage "Script Logo" phase sound and a more modern, aggressive "Block Logo" phaser effect. This switch works by changing the feedback resistor (R28) in the circuit, effectively emulating the tonal characteristics of both the original script and block logo Phase 90 models. The pedal is visually inspired by Eddie Van Halen's famous Frankenstein guitar, featuring the iconic red, white, and black stripes. It is powered by a 9-volt battery, a Dunlop ECB003 adapter, or compatible power supplies like the DC Brick™, Iso-Brick™, and Mini Iso-Brick™ (not included).
