The Custom Shop’s take on one of the earliest iterations of this classic Fender Tele has left guitar history buffs nothing short of impressed. Spectacular historic details include a 2-piece hand-selected ash body, and it its accompanying 1-piece quartersawn maple neck. The hallmark 10/56 “V” profile sports 21 narrow-tall frets, great for any subscriber of thumb-over playstyles. Dual Hand-wound ’58 Tele pickups are provided by the Custom Shop, connected to Fat '50s Tele wiring and a 3-way switch, bolstering already robust tones with crystalline bloom at every note. Vintage-style hardware includes the tuners, bone nut, and wing string tree, adding archetypal flavor to this classic Tele, with a period-precise top-load/string-through Telecaster bridge, along with threaded steel saddles.

A hand-selected 2-piece ash body not only looks the historic part, but it honors the timeless tones that have been gracing records since its inception. Highly shock-resistant, ash is physically and tonally sturdy, imparting a loud, gleaming character, reinforced by strong mids and clear, hearty basses. A 1-piece quartersawn maple neck provides a sonic consistency that reliably produces crystalline, bright tones. The responsive mid and upper registers are accompanied by solid sustain and straightforward overtones in the lows. Together, a wonderfully balanced profile combines great projection and note-separation with tight bass and robust highs, revolving around a sturdy middle register, underpinned by a vintage warmth.

The Fender Custom Shop spared no effort in honoring historic details, crafting a 1-piece maple neck and fingerboard that’s quartersawn, being a physically and tonally the sturdy cut. For those who gig on the road, rest assured that the choice of maple means light weight and climate adaptability, making it highly resistant to twisting and warping. Cut with a 10/56 “V” neck profile, thumb-over players will feel right at home, though it maintains a comfort and versatility to accommodate anyone looking to experience classic Tele design. A vintage 9.5-inch radius fingerboard is sprawling with 21 narrow-tall (6105) frets.

Dual Custom Shop Hand-wound ’58 Tele pickups are accompanied by Fat ‘50s Telecaster wiring to reinforce the sturdy, reliable output of these time-honored tones while providing clarity and bloom with every note. A 3-way switch joins these powerful drivers with master controls for volume and tone, allowing you to dial in your tone without sacrificing the archetypal sounds of this ’58 Tele. Vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and disk string tree accompany an era-accurate top-load/string-through Telecaster bridge, loaded with threaded steel saddles to keep you reliably in tune with timeless panache.
