The Firebird ushered in a slew of firsts for Gibson in 1963, with its neck-through construction and stylish automotive looks. The Firebird ProBuckers FB270 pickups shouldn’t be confused with similar mini-humbucker designs. Made specifically for the Firebird, these pickups feature a PAF construction that omits pole pieces in favor of two blade magnets positioned within the coils, along with a steel reflector plate for a sound all their own. The unique construction creates a tone that blends the best traits of single-coils and humbuckers, with a bright, responsive character, and tight low end. With its matched set of ProBucker FB270s, the Epiphone Firebird delivers the quintessential Firebird sound with the modern reliability contemporary guitarists demand.
