This pre-owned USA Made 2005 Gibson SG Standard lives up to it's name as the quintessential SG. Truly, a proper workhorse Gibson. This guitar has been played and loved, and is not without its various nicks, dings and abrasions. This SG is in overall very good condition for a 20-year-old guitar. The frets are in FANTASTIC shape and newly polished. Neck is perfect and the guitar has a fresh set-up and brand new D'Addario EXL120 strings. Fretboard is cleaned and oiled and is in perfect condition with no wear. Guitar plays very, very well and is extremely light at just 6lbs 13oz. This SG comes with the original Gibson SG Hard Case with white fluffy interior and original case candy. Priced to move! The 2005 Gibson SG Standard features a mahogany body and mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, a 24.75" scale length, 22 medium jumbo frets, and acrylic trapezoid inlays. It is equipped with Gibson 490R/498T humbuckers, individual volume and tone controls, a 3-way toggle switch, a Tune-o-Matic bridge, a stopbar tailpiece, and a late-'60s-style large pickguard. The hardware is typically chrome or nickel and includes Grover or Kluson tuners, with a cherry gloss finish on the body.
Body and Neck
- Body: Double-cutaway solid mahogany with a gloss nitrocellulose finish, Heritage Cherry.
- Neck: Mahogany with a rounded profile and a set neck construction.
- Fingerboard: Rosewood with acrylic trapezoid inlays.
