The Ibanez RG770FM is a solid body electric guitar introduced in 1990 as part of the Roadstar II series, which later became known as the RG series. It was manufactured in Japan by FujiGen and was available exclusively in the USA market for that single year. The model features a basswood body with a flamed maple top, a bolt-on maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard that includes binding and sharktooth inlays, and a Wizard neck profile. It is equipped with a DiMarzio IBZ/USA F2 humbucker in the bridge, a DiMarzio IBZ/USA C2 noiseless stacked single-coil in the middle, and a DiMarzio IBZ/USA F4 humbucker in the neck, resulting in an HSH pickup configuration. The guitar uses a locking tremolo bridge system, specifically an Edge double locking tremolo with a locking nut, and features Gotoh SG38 tuning machines.

The RG770FM was offered in two finishes: Brown Sunburst (BS) and Cherry Sunburst (CS). Although the 1990 model was only produced for one year, a later version with the same name was released in Japan between 2000 and 2002. The 1990 RG770FM is considered a rare and collectible guitar due to its limited production run and exclusive US market availability.
