The Ibanez JS140M-SDL is a signature model designed in collaboration with legendary guitarist Joe Satriani. Released in 2020 and produced in Indonesia, this high-performance electric guitar combines premium features with stage-ready reliability, all wrapped in a striking Soda Blue gloss finish.

The JS140M-SDL features a solid body crafted from American basswood (updated from standard basswood in 2022), known for its balanced tonal characteristics—lightweight, resonant, and ideal for articulate high-gain tones.  The body shape follows Satriani’s signature ergonomic design with deep double cutaways and contoured edges for maximum player comfort, whether standing or seated.

Equipped with a powerful HH (humbucker-humbucker) pickup configuration, the JS140M-SDL delivers a wide sonic palette:

• Neck Pickup: Infinity RD Strat-style humbucker (ceramic, passive)

• Bridge Pickup: Quantum humbucker (ceramic, passive)

• Controls: Master volume, master tone with push/pull coil-split, 3-way toggle switch

• Tremolo System: Edge-Zero II locking tremolo with Zero Point System for exceptional tuning stability 

The coil-split function via the tone knob unlocks single-coil-like tones, adding versatility for clean, blues, or funk styles. The Edge-Zero II bridge is a favorite among players for its smooth action and resistance to going out of tune, even with aggressive whammy use.
