Saturday May 20th 11am, Mom’s Music presents a Brazilian Master Class
Kiko Sebrian (drums), Hamilton Pinheiro (bass) and Emilio Castilho Nunes (piano) will talk about different types of traditional Brazilian Music and Brazilian Jazz. They will perform followed by a question and answer period then give the audience the opportunity to play with them if they wish.
Kiko Sebrian is a drummer and percussionist that studied at Tatui’s Conservatory in Brazil, received a Bachelor of Poplar Music at Unicamp(Brazil), and was also an exchange student for the project FIPSE/CAPES at the University of Cincinnati in 2012. He is pursuing his Master’s degree in performance at the University of Louisville.
Hamilton Pinheiro is a bassist composer, music producer and music educator from Natal, Brazil. In the studio Hamilton has specialized in Brazilian music, having produced more than 20 albums/dvd’s and recorded around 80 works, becoming the most influential music producer in Brasilia.
Emilio Castilho Nunes is from Ouro Preto in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He started on acoustic guitar at 16, then started playing piano three years later. He is finishing his graduate studies in the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Program at UofL as a jazz performer.
